A Self-Optimizing Approach for 3D Printing of High Quality Biocomposites
• Increasing demand of green manufacturing and circular production designs.
• Additive Manufacturing (AM) in biocomposites resulting in lower costs and faster fabrication.
• Defects in AM process and wastage of the materials.
This project aims to design the self-correcting AM process for Biocomposites materials using the design of experiments and AI, which reduces stringing defects (by ~ 50%), and material wastage (by ~90%). Moreover, the correction algorithm will be validated using e.g., hemp-PLA biocomposite as a case study.
