Flax and Hemp Genetic Mutants for Next Generation Biocomposites
• Natural fibers extracted from flax and hemp stems can be used for fabrication of biocomposites.
• The properties of the final composite materials depend on the microstructural characteristic of the fibers.
This project aims to find the correlation between molecular biology, morphological features and mechanical properties of various flax and hemp mutants to guide the selection of natural fibers for biocomposite manufacturing.
